Uttar Pradesh government on Monday transferred 41 senior IPS officers, posting a senior superintendent of police in Firozabad, where two police constables have been shot dead by unidentified assailants leading to violent protests.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed officials to speed up setting up of a commando training centre in Rampur and also form a skilled team of women commandos.
Protesters had vandalised a police station and torched vehicles in Mau. Internet services have been suspended in the district.
